Letters From the General Public to Government Officials
One issue that needs to be addressed is the fact that many letters to government officials in all levels have gone unanswered. The concept of the taxpayer being the customer appears to have been forgotten.
Our government officials are paid civil servants who receive benefits and have job security. Thus, they should be held accountable for ignoring comments and suggestions from the public. I have compiled several letters addressed to the Port Washington Police District, the Village of Baxter Estates, and the Town of North Hempstead. Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss these letters with others.
